The Federation
The ZDG is the umbrella organisation for the professions across the entire German poultry industry. The members are organised into:

Regional associations as special interest groups
The organs of the association consist of the management board, the coordinating advisory board and the specialist divisions.
The management board is comprised of the President, Mr. Gerhard Wagner, and 12 other members. The members of the management board are elected by the general meeting of the coordinating advisory board (meeting of members) for a term of 3 years. In order to reflect all the interests of the production chain levels represented in the ZDG, specialist divisions have been created, which are managed of the management board of the respective association.

Coordinating advisory board:
The following persons sit on the coordinating advisory board: the President, the Chairmen of the specialist divisions and the regional associations as well as the six delegates of the four specialist areas of rearing laying hens, broilers, poultry slaughterers and turkey production. The managing directors of the regional associations and the other members sit on the meetings of the coordinating advisory board, and have an advisory vote.

The official mouthpiece of the Zentralverband der Deutschen Geflügelwirtschaft e.V. (ZDG) is the magazine for the poultry industry and the pig rearing sector.
When the ZMP stopped reporting, the publisher, Ulmer Verlag, took the initiative and established a service division in order to fill the gap and continue reporting on the egg and poultry sectors.
